Getting off to a rough start

Bruce Giudici

We have a new page entitled “Biden’s Cabinet,” which describes the first purported cabinet picks of the President-elect. The first piece makes the case for having a cabinet free of past torture connections. Regrettably, the following three articles show what we can expect in coming years should they get Senate approval. The three positions at “Defense,” National Intelligence and State will be headed by individuals perfectly happy with the way the United States has conducted foreign policy since the end of the Cold War. While we can’t expect a progressive blossoming spring from a Biden presidency, our work for peace and justice will continue as we face the headwinds created by the military-industrial complex. Those of us who were looking for an easier path, this is getting off to a rough start. Happy Thanksgiving!
